Playing next to my kitchen table on Saturday, the strap slipped off (it was doubled over on itself, I was being sloppy) and the lower bout of my Martin, a MC-16GTE, cracked the corner of the table before I could stop it from the neck.
I'm bringing it into my shop this afternoon to see if it's beyond hope. I'd been thinking of giving this to my brother and buying something nicer anyway, but... I bought this used in 2004 (it's a '97), with basically my entire first paycheck at my first "real" job out of college, and I've played it for the last 12 years. I've taken it everywhere and written a TON of music on it.
Oddly, it was still perfectly in tune after this happened, though the low end was completely gone. I'd been writing something for some lyrics my dad wrote for a project with he, myself, and an uncle of mine, so I was still able to demo it out before I tuned it slack and put it back in its case.
looks glueable no problem, it won't be a beauty queen but it will work!
