After a 4 month wait, my PRS S2 has arrived. I put in my order before the price hike, turns out it only went up $20 . This was assembled the 10th of last month, making it a month old today. I like to think it was "built to my order" (I'm aware it was simply built :P).
On to the pics. This actually has a lot of ribbon figure in it, which I tried to catch.
This is the new touring second guitar, since I've realized that if my AJC were to get stolen I would be far more upset than if it were a production guitar. Yes I could have spent less on an SE, but I really dig my friend's standard 24 satin, and I like nice things :P.
It plays like a PRS should - the action is a touch high, but I'm not worried about it just yet. I have 10-52's waiting to go on, and then it will get 11-54's (my main gauge). I'm not used to satin necks, this thing is hilariously quick! I only found one minor imperfection which is stain seems to have touched very small areas on the upper side dots. This does not bother me in the slightest.
Sound: I've only plugged it into my MG15 practice amp. The coil splits work, and it's got a nice clean tone. I can't compare with my '59 loaded custom 22 since that's in Toronto right now.
Overall I'm pretty happy with it. I'm surprised at how much figure seems to be in the mahogany!
