Am I on the right track if I say that Flying Vs are generally very light, while Explorers are heavy??
That kinda puts my interest backwards beacause I would rather have an Explorer, but most Vs I've tried have been light, and most Explorers have been heavy.
They are basically the same thing except body shape, are the V really that less wood? Or do they use different mahongys for them?
I'm talking Gibson preferably here.
I have 3 alder Jackson Vs and 1 epiphone mahogany explorer. The explorer is definitely heavier than the Vs. but there's also more neck dive with the explorer due to the shape I believe, so the weight difference could really be more of a placebo effect
