Just got this last week. Pics first.

I was at my local shop looking for higher end MIM Jazzmasters and got offered a good deal on an Am Std Tele, since they're discontinued now. They had three of them left, so I spent a couple hours playing them and picked my favourite.

It plays great; I went straight from 9s to 11s and haven't had any issues with the strings catching in the nut. I dropped the action a little, but other than that I haven't had to touch it. I'll probably get a setup done sometime just to have a pro give everything a once over, but I'm perfectly happy with it as is.

I really like the pickups. It's a Broadcaster + Twisted Tele set. The Broadcaster is perfect for me, higher output and more midrangey (I got a Tele for the reliability and playability more than the tone). The Twisted Tele in the neck isn't bad, but it seems a little more scooped like a Strat neck pickup, so I might look for something a bit thicker eventually.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the Delta-Tone tone pot; when you max out the tone, it bypasses the pot entirely. It's pretty bright, which I'm not huge into, but I haven't had the chance to really turn my rig up since I got it, so I won't make any serious judgements just yet.

    Grats. That's a great-looking guitar! Happy NGD!
All I can ask is that I suck a little less each time I pick up my guitar...

    Great guitar!

The assessment of the Twisted Tele is correct. Its designed to be a Strat pickup in a Tele cover

    Congrats on the guitar!

That's a really pretty one! Great colour too.

I've never had a Tele before and have been fancying one more and more lately.
