HSS Strat would be my choice. Really though, most people won't care so long as it's not a BC Rich.
Too much focus leads to tunnel vision
Too much faith leads to religion
Too much knowledge leads to confusion
Too many guitar lessons lead to jazz-fusion

    I'd go HSS.

This. Nothing more versatile. Throw in a Fishman Powerbridge and you're set.

    LP and Tele.

Or a Tele with a stacked bridge and coil split.
All I can ask is that I suck a little less each time I pick up my guitar...

I would use my PRS that I tour with. If I were looking at a new purchase, HSS strat would be pretty high on my list.

Either HSS Strat or SSS Strat with a mid-boost to cover the 'bucker stuff - or maybe a splittable JB Jr in the bridge?

A Floyd, too - the Zions I use in my cover band both have Floyds and I never have any tuning issues.
