I'd say that's a killer deal. IIRC that's almost 50% off the new price. The E-II guitars are ESP's replacement for the old ESP Standards or whatever they were called. Getting one for less than $1k is a pretty good snatch.

I picked up one of these Jackson Pro guitars last year and it's one of the best guitars i've laid my hands on. It kills my RG770 and my 540p2.

Frankly, you can buy a Hell of a lot of guitar for a grand, if you go used.

There are several Ibby Prestige models that show up on the markets for that kind of money. The RG550 was a good suggestion and it would leave you money for mods/upgrades.

If you're into Gibson, both the SG Standard and the Flying V are about $1400 new - and Sam Ash is always tossing out $200 coupons. Could probably call them and get one of the sales people to just give you the discount.

I don't know about your area but in my area nice super-strats are priced at a bit of a premium because the type of bands that use them here are the kinds of bands who fuck up their guitars... so the well-cared-for ones are rare. Might try Reverb as well.

All I can ask is that I suck a little less each time I pick up my guitar...

For that money look at Ltd 1000 series. I have an EC1000 and the build quality is great. Also the Jackson Pro Series are awesome. I have a 2017 pro series Rhoads but tried one of the 2017 soloists at the same time and it was a really nice guitar i just wanted something more metal so went with the RR24.
