I just pulled this out of the neck of my Strat, though as the Virtual Vintage noiseless series aren't technically singlecoils this one can be used in any position - a RWRP middle pickup isn't required. Plenty of lead left - I'd say about 7 3/4" on the ground and 9 1/2" on the hot. Visually, it's pretty clean as well - minimal pick wear n the pickup cover, and just a hint of spotting on the polepieces. I can take pics if necessary.
Tonally, this is pretty hot for a singlecoil (170 on Dimarzio's scale, with 100 being "normal" singlecoil output), with strong, authoritative midrange, and a very forward, up front attack. Between the output and the tonality this would make an ideal middle pickup for a H-S-H guitar with fairly hot humbuckers (or for lower output humbuckers where you don't want a perceived volume drop in position 3).
I'd prefer to trade this for another singlecoil rather than selling it outright - I like the Area '61 that replaced it, but I'd be curious to try any other passive noiseless singlecoils, as well as "traditional" singlecoils. I could also pull the HB2 currently in the middle position of my Strat and sell/trade these as a pair, and for an interesting enough pickup might be willing to consider the Area '61 as a potential trade as well. Ideally I'd be interested in a neck/middle pair of Fender Texas Specials or something similar, and would be willing to kick in some cash if a pickup/pair of pickups were different enough in price.
For a sale, however, I'm asking $45/shipped in the continental US, or $40 + estimated shipping elsewhere.
Anyone who wants reference will get kicked in the balls.
