Alright, so I've got this Ibanez AX110XL, which sounds great unplugged, but the JB I put in it isn't doing it for me as much as it used to. It's a mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood board, 27"-scale length.
So, first question: bridge pickup recommendation? I'm looking for something a bit lower output than the JB, with a clearer sound. Sounding great split to single would be a plus too. I'm very curious about the P-Rails here, but it depends on how they perform in humbucker mode.
I'm also considering adding a neck pickup, either a single coil, or a humbucker that will sound great split to single (again, P-Rails is very tempting, but I'm open to options). The main thing holding me back here, is that I kind of like the 1-pickup, tone machine thing it's got going on right now.
Here she is now (FYI, my camera sucks):
So, what do you think? Neck pickup or leave it as is?
I'm also probably going to add a Graphtech GHOST piezo system at some point, but that's not really a question
I'd totally throw a P-Rails in that thing. Maybe even a pair, since it seems to get the most out of P-Rails switching, they should be used in a pair. But even with one, you'd probably get three fantastic and very different tones full of baritone gnarliness.
