excuse the horrendous picture i took it with a blackberry - need i say more?
I just finished giving these a blast for a few minutes and im blown away. i've had other bkps - painkiller coldsweat combo in my caparison and a nailbomb in my old jackson COW.
these are FAR SUPERIOR. The first thing i noticed was that i was able to get not just usable but really nice cleans at any pickup position. For me this is great because my band jump between clean and distorted quite a bit and for me coordinating my feet and hands at once is...an issue...
That aside i was able to get a variety of different cleans that all sounded great at all 5 pickup positions.
Moving on to rythm the bass response on these is god like. A really 'round' sound but without 'djent'. Im more about an old school organic distorted sound and these deliver that nicley and i found them to be really 3D sounding.
Leads - im not by any means a great lead player but i played a few leads on the neck pickup and again it sounded rich and rounded. Very clear and great note deffinition.
Normally i like a range of different sounds in different guitars but i really think if i had another guitar that needed pickups i would just go out and get another set of these.
lastly i went for zebra stripe cream/black open coil.
anyone fitting new pickups in a royal blue rg1527 needs to get that finish it looks amazing!
Good stuff. Can I have my Caparison back now? And when are you recording? George's drums sounded amazing, apart from the bits he ripped off from The Black Dahlia Murder
