The pickups in my Jackson have 4 conductor wires. Green is grounded to the pot, red and white are soldered together and taped back on both.
It's a 3 way blade switch:
Pins 1-2 are soldered together and looped to 7-8, also soldered together
The Neck goes to pin 5.
The Bridge goes to pin 4.
I unsoldered the Jackson pickups, and have the Rio's mocked up in the same way, but I'm not getting any output from the bridge position.
What'd I miss? I assume it's a grounding issue, but everything appears to be in order.
If I solder the black wire from the bridge to the second tab on the switch it works the way it should, but every wiring diagram I see says that it shouldn't.
I'm good to go. No idea what the fuck kind of switch this is, but it's not the stock one. I spent about 10 minutes getting the previous owner's solder off of it. I'm thinking he put the shitty Jackson pickups back in it before selling it.
