I'm waiting for my HolyDiver to get here to replace the Aftemath that I pulled out of my BRJ and I had a JB 7 sitting in a box (I guess I bought when I had my Carvin DC727 )
Anyway my tech threw it in there (and did a neck adlustment etc for me) and much to my surprise .....
I freaking love the way this pup sounds in a mahogany/maple topped neck thru.
I got that singing lead tone (that I've always loved about the Jb) but the bottom end is much tighter than I expected it to be. It doesn't really sound all that looser than the crunchlab I had in there or the Aftermath.
It's also got more of a lower mid focus than the Aftermath does which I much prefer for this guitar.
I've got an SL2H-Mah that is my favorite sounding guitar and I've always wanted a 7 string version of it.
these 2 guitars match up wood-wise and it's very close.
Maybe it's just my Mark IV but this is a great sounding match.
Now it's got me curious to check out one of these wolftone rewinds you guys are always talking about, so I can compare it to the Holydiver
