So, the volume pot in my RGA died a while ago (or rather, it got stuck in its current position), and the 500K pot that I ordered did not fit, so I decided simply use the current tone pot as a new volume pot. This should work, right? I'm not particularly good at wiring, but from what I could find, volume and tone pots are not intrinsically different.
On the old volume pot, one of the prongs was soldered to the body and there was some kind of cap attached to the two other prongs, and I copied this setup to the new volume pot.
I read somewhere that to bypass the tone pot, you merely have to remove it from the circuit. Will this work work in this particular wiring setup? I've attached the wiring diagram.
Yeah just remove the two wires from the tonepot to the rest of it and you're good
