According to the Seymour Duncan website, the Blackout AHB-1-7 phase II is supposed to be a "direct retrofit" of the EMG 707. Except that the dimensions listed are not the same and I was wondering if anyone out there with both in their guitars could measure them and tell me if there is indeed a size difference.
In diagrams I have found online, the EMG 707 is shown as having outer dimensions of 3.50" x 1.50" exactly, whereas the Blackouts are shown as having outer dimensions of 3.526" x 1.504". If a guitar rout is 3.5" x 1.5" then it seems like it could accommodate the EMGs but not the Blackouts even though the Blackouts claim to be a direct retrofit.
Any first-hand info would be appreciated! Thanks!
I would find it very hard to believe any manufacturer would leave less than .026" and .004" gap around the pick-up Other than this I am of no use, I've got Phase I Blackouts
