Cameron's recommendation here - a Fender Custom '69 in the neck, paired with the Texas Special bridge. I haven't logged much play time on it yet, but my initial impression is that while the differences are subtle, I think I like this one quite a bit more. It's a hair brighter yet somehow a little more round, maybe a tad more scooped, and probably a little more "classic singlecoil" sounding. The Texas Special is, rightfully, known as a neck pickup with a lot of attitude, and the Custom '69 has that too, but it's different - the Texas Special snarls a bit, while, this one sort of has a bit more sting to the sound.
In the in-between position, again, it's subtle, but it's a little sweeter and fuller, with a great chime to it.
The tones aren't radically different, but again my first impression is this one just fits me a little better - i think you can hear it in my legato, especially. I'll be interested to hear what I think in a week or two.
The second one sounds way more Jimi-ish to me; a little less SRV/modern.
