Excuse my asstastic clean playing skill but here's a clip that is Invader => Invader/Dist Neck => Distortion Neck

I have a distortion in my V and a jazz in my dinky. To me the jazz has much better cleans.

If you want to do cleans on the neck, I'd go for the Jazz over the Distortion. The DD can sounds suppressed and dry on cleans, and the Jazz can sound, well jazzy and clean. It'll clean up easier as well, since it's a lower output pickup.

Do you know what time it is? It's time to FARK SHEET ARRRRRP!!

This isn't even a question. Jazz. Has a smooth midrange that both achieves sweet/somewhat glassy cleans as well as smooth singing lead tones. And plenty of power. Don't let the name fool you.

Making metal every night and day.

Its not, I actually want it to be more like a jazz pup
The main reason for this thread is that I had a line on a DD for like 15 bucks less new than the going rate. So i thought i would at least conisder it in the neck, seeing as how i dont have a ton of experience with SD's

For what you're talking about, you want a Jazz.
