Exclamation Dimarzio : breed or crunchlab ?

i was looking fr a bridge-pickup fr my ibanez rgd321. i was planning for a dimarzio crunchlab but checked out the breed at the dimarzio website. it said the breed has a more mid-boosted voice than the crunchlab.

so i need some help before i make the final call... i'm going fr a modern, almost periphery-styled riffing tone with lots of clarity & tight low end. it does'nt have to be a 'djent' tone though.

which one of these pickups would be a better choice to get that kind of a tone? just tell me what do u think.

and it'd help me a lot if u post some tone-test clips & comparisons of those pickups here.

The Breed is fucking awesome pickup. I like it in mahogany and basswood. No experience with the CL though. I can't make clips right now, because I don't have them installed in anything at the moment.

The CL is a pile of shit in basswood. It's tolerable in a 6, but sucks in a 7.

Edit: IMO of course.

I haven't tried the Crunchlab, but I have a Breed in my RG560 and it sounds great.

I've played the CL in a EBMM Basswood, I felt it was horrible and I highly doubt it's what you want. I think the breed would be a better choice or even the Evolution which is my favorite bridge dimarzio

they say the Dominion is like a Breed with a ceramic magnet, so maybe that will suit your needs as well.

Wirelessly posted (HTC G2)

Get the Dominion. It's like a tighter Breed.

Now I know what'll be in my next guitar.

I'll have an Evo in my RG421 by Tuesday, so I can comment on that as well. The Tone Zone's going into my SC420.

Odd to see the CL hate here! Man, i love that thing. I've only used it as a 7 string pickup, though, and its been in basswood. But i thought it was killer.
Those two pickups are a LOT different from each other. I was never happy with the Breed i had in my RG470; the mids just kept me from getting any kind of tight bass out of it. It had a wonderful tone for leads, but for rhythm stuff (especially if you're going for the kind of tone you're talking about), i just couldn't get what i wanted out of it. Maybe the Dominion is the best of both worlds for you? I've literally not read one bad thing about it from anyone.
