I like that article. I'm thinking of tapping my Quarter Pound for Tele neck pickup. It'd be nice to have two instantly accessible levels of oomph.

The big problem is that a lot of people use the terms interchangeably, which leads to a lot of confusion and misinformation.

To my ear, the tapping options on single-coils are similar to a humbucker in series vs. parallel modes. Very cool options to have.

I'd LOVE to get a pair of really nasty over-wound P90s with coil taps to bring them down to vintage levels.
