Default EMG Neck Pickup???

I have two guitars with EMG85 Neck pickups, and they're far too bassy for me, i love the sound of the 81 but i fear it might be too harsh in the neck position, I've never personally played a 60 or any X models. Suggestions?

Love the 60, probably my favourite neck pickup. Do it.

Yeah, not a fan of EMGs myself but the 60 is an awesome pickup.

Definitely a 60 or 60A.

Either the 60 or the 60X are a good choice. But, there are a lot of people that like the flipped 81/85 combo. Meaning 85 bridge and 81 in the neck. As long as the pick-ups have the quick connects on them it shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to try.

works for me in the SZ320. I have wanted to try a 60 but I'm mostly a passive guy these days.

Do you have a 60 yet?

If not, why not?

My single favourite neck pickup ever. (and has been for about 8 or 9 years) and will do what you want.

ahh yes. i heard Adam from kse ran a 85(bridge)/SA/SA setup, but i doubted it. I just got 85's because i liked the initial sound, but they're not sharp enough, and like i said too bassy. i never got to truly demo a 60. thanks y'all. when i change string im gonna switch the 81 and 85 like suggested; maybe buy a 60 for fun.

EMG just sent me a bunch of pickups to try out.
A set of prototypes, and.....
I also snagged a pair of dual mode x-series pups. A 81TWX for the bridge & 89XR for the neck.
