I actually slapped these in last week but today I finally got some decent pickup rings for them so I could swap out the bastardized Carvin pickup rings.
Got a Rio Grande Punchbox in the neck position and a Crunchbox in the bridge postion. So far, they are my favorite set I've had in this guitar. Carvin V220 with mahogany body/neck and a maple cap and board. blah blah blah...
They are really saturated sounding. Which I dig. Lots of low end and mids. Yet the mids seem really scooped sounding for some reason. At low volumes I tend to lower the amp gain quite a bit. But at practice/gig volume, I put it back up. Which is the opposite of what I usually do.
And on top of it all, they look cool as hell.
Quick shitty demo.

Sweet! Those look awesome!
I had that exact set w/chrome covers in my Jackson a while back.
