Yet another recommend me pickups thread

I recently bought an Epi LP Studio as a beater guitar and it needs some new pickups. It's mahogany body and neck with a rosewood fretboard. Ballpark tone I'm looking for is something like Maylene and the Sons of Disaster or Every Time I Die. Here's some videos for reference:

Right now, I'm just looking for a bridge pickup since I don't use neck pickups much in general. I'll worry about a neck pickup later. Price wise, I'd rather stay away from BKPs, but I wouldn't be against it if i found one pretty cheap used. Right now, this is what I'm looking at but not too sure:

    Duncan - Custom, JB?
    Dimarzio - Blazes, Evo, TZ?
    Gibby 498T?

I think a Duncan Distortion would work really good in that guitar and for that music.

    I'd do either Custom/Jazz or JB/Jazz

The first clip has less bass, more mids and is balanced in the high end, the second clip is scooped and has a fizzy top end. To me, for that first one, you'd be looking at more of a PAF style pickup, where the second one you'd be looking at the Duncan Custom.

I agree that a Duncan Distortion would work great for what your after. Although a JB would give you a bit more of a mid-range "honk".

Although I like them, I don't think you're going to get close with an Evo or TZ.
