Title certainly gets most of my point across. But here's some more details.
Not sure if it matters but I am using a Fender Princeton 112, Boss Metal Zone, Cry baby wah.
Style of metal I enjoy....70 to 90s.... metallica, iron maiden, judas priest, motley crue, van halen, ac dc.
I've had the set up for about a month now and I'm not too keen on the clean channel sound of the guitar.
The reason I am looking at Dimarzios is because after watching many youtube videos on the Super Distortion..... I like as one guy described it that "motorcycle" sound.
Considering an Area 60 something for the middle. If I'm to understand the advertising correctly they are single coils that are quieter? Not sure if this is a good choice I mean I do enjoy the blues but at the same time I'm realistic that my current guitar might not be ideal for blues tones.
I found the dimarzio website quite interesting I like that each pick up has high, mid and low ratings plus output. But I lack the understanding of how the different pick ups would interact with each other (or if that is even a concern). I tried the survey where dimarzio will recommend pick ups but it's hard for me to say whether my biggest concern is harmonics, warmth or one of the other choices.
As an aside again not sure if it's important but I'm thinking about getting a way huge green rhino.... I like that tube screamer type overdrive tone. Not necessarily for metal but I am curious to maybe try it in a chain with the metal zone.
Dominion neck, area 60 middle, d-activator bridge. Trust me
