I've decided to mod up my Jackson DK2. I ordered a Graph Tech Ghost Floyd to put in it so the acoustic end is covered and the bridge will be upgraded.
It currently has a JB in the bridge and Seymour STK-1's in the middle and neck. I'm okay with JB but I'm not married to it.
So here's the scoop: The guitar is an alder bodied, maple necked bolt on HSS with Floyd. I use it in a cover band that does 70's and 80's rock with the occasional outside track. Our sets are incredible tight so unless we have a failure I'm playing one guitar throughout. I need it to do blues, rock, 80's metal, southern rock, etc. I'm running it through an Axe Fx II so I have plenty of amps and pedals to work with to get different flavors of gain.
I'm thinking medium output for the bridge so that I can clean up fairly well. The singles are my biggest concern. I really don't like the STK-1's in it at all. I need vintage / straty / tele kind of thing out of them.
I play similar styles of music. My personal preference is a Duncan Alternative 8 and then a Fender 69 in the neck and a Fender Texas Special in the middle. You can then wire a push pull that will get you bridge outside coil and neck on the neck position for maximum tele spank The Alt 8 is warmer than the JB without getting flubby. It is hands down the best pickup for alder bodied guitars.
