Snagged one of the new Dimarzio Titan bridge pickups here recently! I installed it in my modded Ibanez Rg470 (basswood, maple, rosewood), and have been vigorously riffing on it for a while.
Its a really chunky, thick pickup. Definitely a focus in the low midrange frequencies. A really excellent pickup for recording and cutting through a mix! The highs are clear, but not shrill, and the bass is pretty big and SUPER tight.
I've found with this pickup that whenever i pull it away from the strings a bit more than i usually do, you can get some SERIOUS pick attack going on! Usually i find the closer the pickup is to the strings, the more pronounced the attack gets, but this one was the opposite… weird. Sounds sick either way.
Very much looking forward to checking out the 7 strings version. Knowing Dimarzio, it will probably be different from the 6 string model, though!
