    Entwistle neodymium pickups?

    Hi guys

Having heard good things i am quite keen on geting an entwistle neodynium pickup for my dinky i notice they have 2 types the HDN and the Darkstar ND

Has anyone tried these? whats the difference tonally?

I spotted in past threads there was an attempt at a group buy of the HDNs on here and people seem to have been impressed but I'm having a hard time finding any opinions on the darkstar ND

Never played a darkstar. Have (and love) HDNs and HVXs.

They're the only passives I have installed at the moment actually. There are BKs, duncans and dimarzios in a box in a drawer. I prefer the entwistles.

Basically - they cost next to nowt and are awesome. Just buy them.

I know Tony (Toe-Knee) uses them and loves them.

I'm in the same boat as Mark. If I had a 6, and needed passives, it would be the HDN's.

Here is a clip I did a while back with the HDNs.

This is in a PRS SE Custom tuned to C Standard. The amp is a LeGION into a V30 impulse, Double tracked.

The Dark Star is pretty similar to the HDN it is a bit chunkier in the lows and a bit hotter too.

I personally prefer the HDN, The Nemesis AFG is also pretty cool but that's a ceramic/alnico hybrid.

If enough people are interested I could do another group buy.

I wouldn't really say they are too similar to anything else. They have their own kinda thing going on.

They really suit anything that requires a lot of tightness and focus. I hate to say it but they would also be perfect for Djent as they have the perfect midrange for it without ending up honky like the BKP aftermath.
