I love my new Gibson Les Paul Custom but as is quite common with them, it can be rather bright. The stock neck pickup I actually love, it has an almost 'open wah' quality to it with a bit of a 'quack' too. So I want to leave that where it is ideally. However the bridge pickup is way too bright. It's very 'thin' and 'shrill' to my ears. I want something with a bit more grunt in there, something to tame the brightness. I don't really want super high output, more something a litter 'fuller'. I want clarity too, nothing too 'woofy'. I think the flame maple top and ebony board just aren't helping the bridge pickup at all here.
Any ideas? I was thinking something like a Duncan Custom Custom? Suhr Aldrich? I'm open to any pickup maker.
