Something I NEVER expected to post - maybe they've tweaked them recently (these are 2013's), or maybe the cork sniffery has gone to my head, but I actually rather like them.
To my surprise, when I go back and forth between my Suhr and my 550, while the Suhr has an edge at lower gain stuff I've been finding the Bareknuckle Rebel Yells a little lacking at higher gain - the V1/V2 set is hotter (to be fair, the Rebel Yells don't seem very hot at all - the PAF7/Blaze set in my PWH is audibly hotter, too) and has a thicker low end and smoother top.
I've been knocking stock Ibanez pickups for like a decade. I really don't understand what's going on here.
I'd venture a guess that the Ibby stocks are a bit more scooped, which sounds awesome when they're by themselves, but in a band mix, they might get buried.
