Hey guys -
I'll probably do an NGD and photos on this guitar when I'm finished with it - but for now, I could use some advice on a pickup replacement.
I picked up a 2002 Gibson Flying V faded (crescent moon inlay, you know the one) and it's in pretty decent shape sans a few things I'm working on that I'll detail later. The pickups are mounted in a full-size three-ply pickguard.
Right now, it has a Seth Lover in the neck and a JB in the bridge. I really dig the Seth Lover in the neck position, but not so much the JB. I've owned a JB once before and it sounded great in the little Ibanez ART100 I had... it just seems too hot for what I want this guitar to be.
I want a vintage sound, something that I can crank up and play hard rock with but also drop the volume on and play southern rock and cleans. So, I'm leaving the Seth Lover and replacing the bridge.
In my research, I see these options come up a lot:
Any thoughts? Thanks -
