So I just got one of these.
The stock pickups are serviceable (quite decent actually) but it's an Ibby and they're begged to be changed.
I loved the Texas Special on a US Special Tele I borrowed a while back, and was set on getting a pair of those for this guitar, but now I'm thinking of other alternatives. I'll be using this as my main guitar for all the country/rock sessions/shows I've been doing lately while also being a studio workhorse, so I'm aiming for that classic twang, while still versatile enough to handle modern sounds in a pinch. I'm also ruling out humbucker sized singles here... at least for now.
So far the main contenders are a set of Texas Specials, SD Vintage Broadcasters or Dimarzio Twang Kings. But I do want to hear any other suggestions.
Came here to recommend the same three you're already looking at I take it going non-hum canceling is deliberate?
