I have been searching around for any good input on this issue. I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue:
Gibson Les Paul Studio (Stock)
Selector switch down (treble) works perfect 100% of the time.
Halfway (treble + rhythm) it sounds okay, but it's mainly picking up the treble.
Switch up (rhythm.) This one works off and on as it pleases. Sometimes picking up a faint hint of strings vibrating, other times it's full on.
Any suggestions where I should start looking around?
Is there already a post for this issue somewhere? (I couldn't find one.)
It's probably the switch itself. It sounds like a mechanical issue. You need to squeeze the outside leg of the switch a little closer to the centre. When you take the control cover off, you can see the switch making contact with the top leg, middle and bottom leg. Whichever one isn't working well is the one that needs to be squeezed a bit towards the middle.
