So after all the electronics/hardware mods to my tele I'm trying to get the action nice and low and noticed buzz problems on the middle of the neck. Checked the neck bow and that .25mm 8th fret gap factory spec that Fender suggests is .55mm on my guitar. I'm using .09s just like the factory supplied, so nothing wonky going on there.
The main problem is the Truss Rod is already fully tightened. I've read about adding shim washers, but I've only seen it mentioned as a concept.
Is this typical or even recommended? The guitar seems to have a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for the wood anyway and I assume the neck being permanently over-bowed beyond factory specs would count?
Should I contact Fender, just shim it or... something?
If you have run out of adjustment and still have relief, try removing the truss rod adjustment nut and put a couple of washers in there and reinstall the adjustment nut.
This will give you more threads to work with.
