I have a laptop that belongs to a coworker that they have asked me to fix for them. It's beyond fucked. It seems that they have downloaded anything on the internet that said "FREE DOWNLOAD!", and as a result the thing is so fucked that even uninstalling programs isn't working right. I tried to remove this software in safe-mode, but of course, uninstalling software does not work in safe mode.
Is there any way to force uninstalling software in safe mode, or a similar state? Usually I would just wipe and uninstall, but I don't want to lose their data, and I'm really uneasy about backing up their files to any of my drives for fear of contamination...
So, any cool tricks?
What version of Windows is it running?
Depending, you're looking at a full days worth of reg edits, or a two hour straightforward clean install.
