So I had a bunch of extra hardware lying around and thought I might as well use it to build a cheap Jackson partscaster. So I picked up a used DXMG body and a used Kelley KE3 neck off of eBay and put it all together. I installed an EMG 81/85 pickup set and an OFR tremolo, both taken from one of my Jackson USA guitars.
Unfortunately, it is pretty much unusable to me because the action is just way too high. Like 2-3mm too high at the last fret. The bridge posts of the trem are already as far down as they will go. What, if anything, can be done to solve this (apart from re-routing the entire bridge pocket and re-installing the bridge posts)?
putting shims in the neck pocket will help i think.
