Is this shit glued on or what?
I took my guitarist's S7 apart because he wants to me to sand/oil it for him like I did my M-307, so I got down to the blank body and this motherfucker won't come off!
Is it glued? I don't want to force it because I'll snap it, but if I don't get it off it's gonna be a shitter to sand around!
Also, is it absolutely necessary? If I can get it off, can the 5-way still go on without it? I guess I'll just have to counter-sink the screws into the wood a bit?
It's probably embedded itself into the finish since it's been screwed into the guitar since it was built years ago. Gently pry it off.
It's necessary because the switch is too tall otherwise to fit in the control cavity. Lowering it flush with the body would result in not being able to put the control cavity cover back in the guitar.
