So I got an Ibanez ICX120 about 2 years ago on the cheap for $60.
I loved how it played, and because of the smaller body compared to most other iceman models, it just felt and sat with me comfortably.
I've wanted to mod it for a while, and finally went and bought everything as far as electronics and hardware.
But, I came across a new RGD321 neck 26.5" scale 24 frets. the one currently on there is a 24.5" 22 fret.
I'd love to do a swap on the necks.
So other than measuring to see if it will fit in the joint.
What do i have to consider?
This will be my first big mod project, and If I'm gonna get the neck, I want to make sure I'm doing it right.
You would probably have to move the bridge further back to fit that scale length or it wouldn't intonate properly. The ICX120 has a TOM and stop tail, you'd want to measure from the nut to the 12th fret(of the new neck), and then take that measurement and go from the 12th fret to the body...this is where you'd want the bridge to go.
