    Guitar set-up areas

So, I have a lot of spare space on my desk, easily enough to fit a guitar and a load of tools to set one up with. I'm looking for something to stop it getting scratched and to elevate the neck. I was looking at this....

Is there anything better or more flexible to do the same job? I'm not going to be going nuts with set-ups, just restringing, truss and bridge adjustments, and fret-polishing. Also, can anyone recommend some tools? I have allen keys and screwdrivers a plenty, but anything else I should have?

I have the GMT-003 and it is awesome because I can close it all up and take it with me for out of town gigs or when I need to clean up

I just use one of these, and you can lay a towel down to protect the guitar.

Stew Mac Rock-n-Roller Neck Rest and a Neotech Work Mat from Musicians Friend. Something to measure string action and maybe small feeler gauge for neck relief. Good soldering iron also comes in handy.

I use a big piece of felt that I had lying around, and a piece of shaped packing foam to set the neck on. Works great.
