OK, someone throw me some thoughts here in case I've missed something. I have a Marshall cabinet that I want to get rid of, however two of the speakers aren't working. The layout is as follows:
The cab is wired as two 2*12's with seperate sockets
The speakers are 16ohm, wired in parallel, aka 4ohm per side
One side works fine, however there's no sound from the other side. I've:
Replaced the jack sockets
Replaced the wire from the jack socket to the first speaker
Removed the wire between the two speakers
I've wired two seperate sockets to the individual speakers (taking into account that they become 16ohm each)
And in each case there is no sound (each time I've then re-tested the amp on the 'good side' of the cabinet, which has worked fine).
Anyone got any ideas or have I got two blown speakers?
most likely you have tw blown speakers. do you have a multimeter?
