Had to make a wood covered pickup and took a few pics as I went. Won't go into any big descriptions, just some pics you guys might like to see.
4 halves of 2 coils. Big thanks to Cameron for the material, it's 1/4" black FR4. The same kind of glass fiber that circuit boards are made from. Very tough stuff.
The cover is ziricote capped with limba. You can see how the poles will sit recessed into the top a little so they're not too far from the strings. I didn't take any pics of the cover making process.
Baseplate from copper clad PCB sheet. The neodymium magnets will sit in the slots.

The machine is modified with a larger pulley and a friction brake to slow the speed.

I've had to order slightly different length magnets for this so shall fit them, wire it up and pot the whole lot in epoxy early next week. There's a full work day in this pickup, but only about 20 minutes are spent on the actual winding
