Sooo, i noticed my g string kept buzzing from the saddle, so i checked it for wear and realized the string holder block was stuck. I had to yank the string out with some force. I oiled up the block to see if that would free up the gunk or rust...but that hasn't helped at all. Im thinking the block cracked at the bottom and expanded and now its wedged in there. It will move back and forth in the saddle if i jab at it with a little screwdriver, but i cant get this thing out. Super annoying! But ohhh, the problem gets worse I thought hey, let me just take off the saddle and see if i can push it out from the bottom...then the alan bolt locking the saddle down decided to strip!!!
Question 1: How do i remove the stuck block from the saddle?
Question 2: How do i get out the stripped alan bolt that locks the saddle down?
Either try a one-size bigger allen wrench to loosen up the stripped one, or...
Try jamming a phillips screwdriver down in the stripped head to make indentations of the phillips head that the screwdriver can grab on to and turn it slowly to loosen, as to not strip the indentations.
Or try finding a perfectly sized flathead screwdriver that will fit in there between any leftover allen wrench indentations and turn it slowly to loosen.
After you get that off, I imagine it should be easy to punch the block out.
