    Interesting Hipshot Tuner Universal System

I don't have personal experience with this product but came across this looking at parts for my next Warmoth build. Thought it looked like a cool idea for many of us that want to change tuners.

Really brilliant, this will be great for guys with valuable vintage guitars that have shot tuners.

Would have loved to have this before I hacked a Squier neck to pieces trying to make hipshot tuners fit haha.

I used this when I put Hipshot locking tuners on my white Warmoth Warhead. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite that easy; the tuner holes on the Warhead must be slightly closer together than a stock Fender, so the two UMP plates they sent me overlapped and wouldn't let the tuners go flush to the neck.

I had ordered them so I wouldn't have to drill in my tiny apartment. Instead, I had to rig a clamping jig and hacksaw about 1/8" off the end of one of the plates, then take it to Home Depot to get the sharp edge buffed out.

It works fine now (although the lowest tuner posts in the staggered set are VERY low relative to the bushings) but it wasn't as easy.

This is almost certainly not your standard experience (again, the Warhead headstock is smaller than the Fender one and appears to have a different tuner hole spacing than standard Fenders) but it wasn't as easy as the video looks!
