[Fixed] New Schecter KM-7 bad pot (pics/video)

I've never owned a push/pull pot before and I think that the one in my KM7 is faulty. I noticed the first few days after I got it that the signal cut out a few times when adjusting the volume but I didn't really notice it again for a week or so later. Today I was playing with the push/pull on the guitar and noticed that at one point when the pickup was split that it got really noisy and then the pot became REALLY sensitive to the cutting in and out problem. Here is a video of the problem.

The post seems loose and has a noticeable amount of wiggle. The pot doesn't jiggle, just the post inside it. Is this a "thing" for push/pulls? Do the posts usually wiggle in the pot or are they usually solid and just go up and down with no side to side?

On the flip side I'm pretty good with soldering and the solder job itself looks good. If I end up going to the trouble to re solder all the connections I want to just go ahead and replace the pot while I'm at it. Does anyone have any suggestions for best push/pull pots? Brands?

Sounds like a bad component to me. If it's a brand-new guitar, that should be covered under warranty.

Got it fixed up. New pot has zero wiggle to it and doesn't cut out at all so it was a bad pot. New one has better push/pull and way better taper to it too. I also picked up some new hipshot knobs with the O-rings. I thought I would dig the satin chrome but I still ended up going with the black. Here are some pics for those that might be interested.

chrome knob looks out of place, stick to the black one. Glad you got the pot sorted out.

I went out and picked up a push/pull from the local guitar shop in town. If I remember right it was a dimarzio pot like this one https://www.amazon.com/DiMarzio-EP12.../dp/B0018THTJC

Have you looked on ebay, there are push/push pots (way better than push/pull in most cases) for $10 from Singapore, ships worldwide.
