But Sersly though, I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I'm about to drill screw holes in my body to attach my neck and wondered whats considered the best method to screw them together?
I was going to drill 4 holes through the pocket, line them up with the neck and use 4 screws (with bushings). I've seen some people put inserts or T screws in the heel and use proper bolts, while some people just use a regular wood screw and nothing else.
Is that overkill, or will 4 wood screws just not cut it? its an RG7 copy with an AANJ style neck joint.
I don't want to find the neck slips and shifts in the pocket once its strung up.
Proper bolts are the best way, and the only way I do it. Wood screws are not strong enough, IMO. You can buy inserts at your local hardware store and use roundhead Allen bolts, stainless steel being preferable. I use 1/4-20 bolts and inserts.
