Hey, I've had my Engl amp for about a year and a few months and I feel that I may need to replace the tubes at some point soon. However, I'm not quite sure how to go about accessing where the tubes are because the usual suspect doesn't seem right as the power soak panel is attached to the back grill. See image:
Does anyone have any experience with this or have any ideas on what to do?
Assumptively it would be the 7 screws holding the mesh in place, pull it off and the tubes should be accessible. If not, then you may have to remove the chassis from the case.
But if it's only a little over a year old, are you sure you need new tubes? Unless you're cranking it up to 10 for a substantial amount of time each day/week they should be alright for a while longer. Also are you familiar with biasing amps because I don't see any rear panel bias points?
Also if the power soak is anything like the one I have in my little 5 watt combo, it's attached with a few leads and as such will come off with the mesh and just sit on top of the case while you work.
