I'm rebuilding the neck on one of the RGs I got from Japan as it is completely cunted. The board was so badly shrunken that I pulled the frets out with my fingers and it was about 0.7mm smaller than the neck at the heel. I've pulled the board off and cleared the neck for a nice surface to glue it to but I need a fretboard. The plan for this guitar is an ebony fretboard with no markers and a black body with black hardware all around. The 'überschwarz' as it will be known.
I'm after somewhere that can provide me a preradiused and pre slotted fretboard that I can trim down to size. I contacted Perle guitars but got no response from them so I'm seeing if anyone can point me where I might find one.
Here's what the neck looked like after I pulled the frets. Thankfully the headstock break was nice and clean and lines up perfectly. Only thing holding the headstock on was the truss rod nut
Hey man, try this place.
I havent used them so cant vouch for them, but I read a few build threads and reviews when i was building my guitar and a lot of people said they were pretty happy with their stuff.
EDIT they also do slotting..
