Hey everyone -
So the strat I picked up came with a case. I was meeting with the guy at a gas station along I-35 and not only was it outdoors, but a bit breezy. So I didn't notice that the inside of the case smelled like Tommy Chong's asshole.
I think the guy smoked... something.
Any tips on clearing that smell? I don't want to use anything that will harm the guitar. Should I just open it and let it air out for a few days?
Fabreze and a steamer worked for me once. I bought my old Jackson Dinky off a guy that must have smoked cigarettes and decided that the perfect way to disguise the odor was to dump about 12 gallons of Drakkar Noir in it before shipping it to me. It took about a month before my hands stopped smelling like cologne (from 1989) every time I played the damn guitar.
