I inherited a neglected RG570 from my friend and it has been sitting in my closet for far to long! I strung it up and noticed that the neck had a nice big crack. My question is what do I do?
1. Wood glue the SOB back together? I can open up the crack with pressure and drop some glue. Does this have any negative effect? This would be out of my limited expertise, but I not to concerned. Would I have to clamp, sand, etc?
2. Purchase a used one on ebay like this one? This is the only one on Ebay that will fit (24 fret, square heel). And the description says that it is cracked as well.

Side question. Everything is still stock. What parts should I upgrade?
I'd say if you can spread it a bit go ahead drop some glue I there and clamp if you can some how. She will be good as new.
