I figured that, since that's what she was going with. I was more wondering the reasoning behind it, not being critical, I'm just curious.

She's not really a guitarist, hasn't played much guitar before.

But one day I found her Ebaying for Steinbergers

And we talked about it a little and I showed Krappy Guitars, and after that the idea to let her build a guitar herself came to idea instead.

Where'd you get the pickguard? Is it cut for a Floyd? I'm always on the lookout for any to mod my Charvels, but they're really hard to come by here in the UK and I hate having to wait and risk shit coming from the States!

Sorry, it's a regular strat pickguard only bought from a swedish parts supplier.
I'm going to cut it for Floyd rout myself.
Supposing you're not up to that

I'm okay with the fact that there's no European equivilents to Warmoth, Musikraft or USACG:

But really, how hard can it be for somebody to make custom pickguards? I'm sure there will be people interested!
I've looked for it, I'm sure you have; and I haven't found any
    Only ready cut.

Personally I dont want the traditional three-knob pattern, so I always tape over the first and third hole with black tape, only using the middle one...

Man, don't get me started on the weak pickguard game over here.... There are a few custom places that will do you a custom guard (if you send them an original!) But their prices are DISGUSTING! It's actually made me contemplate investing in a router cnc to make and sell them myself...

If you ever do it, I'll be buying a few

There has been many times I've thought about ordering from Warmoth, but the shipping prices gets too high.

Check out Dragonfire Pickguards, sold through TNTGuitars on eBay. That's where I got my first few from. I've found a guy up in Scotland but I think the ones from TNT are slightly better quality.

    Wow! Thanks for the suggestion.

Sure not all have "undrilled for knobs" but they seem to have plenty of variation. As long as the volume knob isn't in the way of my pinky I'm fine!
