    Suggest me a project

Ok, I'm feeling the itch to build something again. The last two:

*Warmoth partscaster. Loads of fun, learned a lot, Josh now owns it.
*Overdrive. BYOC Tube Screamer clone, with a killer enclosure paintjob courtesy of Dana. Sounds awesome.

What would make a good next project? I don't think I'm quite ready for an amp, nor can I see myself building anything I'm going to like more than my Roadster. Are there any relatively noob-friendly rackmountable mic preamp kits? Maybe buy a Mexi strat and tackle learning to refret necks? Or build a more complex pedal, maybe the other BYOC OD? Something else?

    Inspire me.

Wind a set of pickups? Can easily make a winder out of just a hand drill.

I know you said no amp but I think an 18W marshal for you to jam on with your dad and to take to local jams would totally suit that Strat

    Either of these:
Mojotone British 18 Watt Style 1x12 Combo Amplifier Kit

Mojotone British 18 Watt Style Head Amplifier Kit

They are fairly straight forward and there are a few amp building forums for help when you are stuck

Actually, I'm GASing hard for a Mark-V 35 for that exact reason.

    Cam beat me to it

Also may be worth checking out/building something a little more off the wall, like a Bass VI or one of the Precision Guitar Kits set-neck models.
Too much focus leads to tunnel vision
Too much faith leads to religion
Too much knowledge leads to confusion
Too many guitar lessons lead to jazz-fusion

This would be fun too. Get a LP Jr with some P-90's for awesome rhythm and leads for your next album release in 2050
