I hate the things... end of story. I have no pots in my passive instruments. All passive pickups sound a lot better going straight to the output to my ears.

My wiring is a three way switch bridge/kill/neck on the strat. And my 8 is bridge/both/neck.

I recently went down this route on my Warmoth; pulled out the volume pot and replaced it with an on/off. It's pretty sweet.
