Default Barrel Jack - which prong is the ground?

Newbie question, I know.. Usually one of the connections is tagged to the sleeve.

Which of these prongs is the ground?

Usually it's the long one... but I've never worked with a barrel jack that wasn't stereo.

Too much focus leads to tunnel vision
Too much faith leads to religion
Too much knowledge leads to confusion
Too many guitar lessons lead to jazz-fusion

Plug in a cable and use a multimeter to double-check which goes to the tip and which toes to the sleeve.

Or just trust Adam.

Most likely the longer, but replace it with a Switchcraft one just because.

Meh, I'm doing it now and this is what I have. If you can magically make one appear on my kitchen table right now, I'll gladly use it!

Of course, now I don't know which fucking prong is the ground on that one, but I'll just make a new thread tomorrow.

Time for a beer.
