I have now got a problem with this

The coupling of the strings is now so much better that now im getting shedloads of spring ring whereas before I had none.

Time to find some foam!

You can put the springs in plastic tubing if not, that'll kill it as well.

Normally I stick aquarium tubing inside the springs but I think I have the foam from the EMG packing somewhere

I must be the only person I know that actually likes the spring noise... I usually take the back plate off to accentuate it even more.

You wouldn't like it if you recorded with it

I work as a sound engineer and I record with it a lot. I'm just into a different style of music and I would imagine it could be very annoying to some.

For me though it is all part of the guitar. A bit like string noise. Some hate it, whereas I love it.
